The Heflin Bridge is a suspension bridge in Fairhaven.  The 1-mile-in-length roadway is held up by over 800 2"-in-width vertical hanger cables, connected to two 5'-in-diameter cables, connected to two 50-meter-in-height steel towers.  With no drivers, pedestrians, or humans around to work on the bridge, what will become of it?

1 Day After People: The Fairhaven power grid breaks down, and the Heflin Bridge goes dark forever.

150 Years After People: It is 15 decades without maintenance, and now.... Almost all the paint has deteriorated onto the steel towers, but they will remain intact.  Soon, one of the cables strains to pull up the roadway and snaps.  Then the rest of the cables snap, one by one, and the roadway falls into the Heflin Bay.

300 Years After People: It is 3 centuries without maintenance, and now.... The towers cannot hold up.  The steel has been corroded by rust, and the rest of the paint has deteriorated.  Finally, the rusted steel towers give up, and they fall down into the Heflin Bay and no signs of the bridge remain.
