The Analemma Tower is a hypothetical 32 km high space tower that extends from an orbiting asteroid. This structure, aligned with solar panels and durable glass, would be a combination of homes and office buildings. The material made out of this would be some imaginary material that man hasn't created yet that would be strong enough to support this tall structure. When built, people are able to move into this new home or leave it at a specific time when the asteroid is close to the Earth. Being at the most, 3 kilometers off of Earth surface, there would be bird collisions happening at the bottom, while at the top, the glass would have to resist the low pressure of space, and would pose problems for any planes flying nearby. An elevator inside will go at a quick speed to reach through the entire building in over 20 minutes. Although the problems seem multiple, the Analemma Tower has many benefits that mankind wouldn't want to resist. Being the "tallest proposed building", now without people, how long can this beauty of a tower last?

Timeline[]

1 Day After People[]

Dangling from an asteroid, the Analemma Tower or Dubai Asteroid Tower is a tower that would orbit the planet and serve as a home and office for most likely millions of people to live and work in. As it does so, it does face several problems with its orbit. Down below, the tower faces not only occasional bird crashes, but hurricanes and other storms, but because it was built with a special material not came up with mankind today, they are able to resist it. With their solar cells, the tower is also powered on, keeping the world lit up, even if it's not on it.

2 Weeks After People[]

As it continues on, the Analemma Tower faces a powerful hurricane. Fortunately, nothing happens to it, not even one broken glass frame. Up above, the tower faces another problem. Flying space debris that may affect the tower and its glass. Although not high enough to constantly orbit it, they might pose a challenge to it later on. Inside the tower, the things that made a house a home now lay there, with nobody to interact or do anything with them. In the offices, the workstations are also left empty, nothing changing at all. The food inside hasn't rotted away yet, since the refrigeration still keeps food cool enough, thanks to the solar cells powering the tower.

6 Months After People[]

Still orbiting the human-less Earth, the Analemma Tower remains relatively intact. However, the tower now has no control over its orbit completely, slightly changing its path over time. Now, the bottom of the tower is on a collision course with a 4 kilometer high mountain. As it does so, the bottom floors of the tower snap off, causing damage, but not destroying the rest of the tower. Now, the inside is exposed to the elements and many objects soon fall out of the tower or wear away.

1 Year After People[]

Already wearing away, the glass is starting to crack in some floors. The inside is about to make contact with the outside space. Meanwhile, falling space debris has caused some of the solar panels to break, slowly dimming the lights of the tower. Inside, the elevator has also stopped moving and lays motionless. Although the cables supporting it won't snap for a long while, something else will occur that would compromise the entire tower as a whole.

2 Years After People[]

Even though the Analemma Tower is able to last many more years after people, the tower itself is about to meet its final fate. In this particular day, the tower is on a collision course with a 50 meter asteroid. The asteroid heads for near the base of the tower, devastating the connection and causing some parts to fly off into space. For the rest of the tower, they are now affected by Earth's gravity and plummet to the planet. As it falls, the tower starts to disintegrate through Earth's atmosphere and collides with South America. The visionary tower of seeming impossibility is no more.
